pupit: how can i start a one line command automatically right after my X is up? im a bit tired for googling tbh :\
kingbeowulf: heh...working at home office today ... just woke up from a nap. dont tell the boss
adaptr: pupit: at the end of your .xinitrc
adaptr: or the beginning, whatever you like
pupit: adaptr: thanks :)
kingbeowulf: pupit, yep .xinitrc I put a few doodads there
adaptr: look through all the startup files in /etc/X11.. they form a freaky chain of crap that extends to about a dozen files
adaptr: it's flexible, sure, but did it have to be THAT flexible ?
pupit: heh
pupit: we must ask Pat
adaptr: why ? he didn't program X
pupit: dunno then
mancha: pupit i would probably use my DE's or WM's default startup scripts
kingbeowulf: X had to be all things to all people.
adaptr: you can make an xstartup file too, if you like, or use your WMs startup file - but that's wayy after X has started
pupit: mancha: yes it is reasonable but for now its only for synergyc so its not so important to be in DE scripts
adaptr: you did say immediately after
pupit: i did adaptr
adaptr: that would be xinitrc :)
kingbeowulf: also, if its just a one-liner...why not add it such as "startx && mycmd.sh"
pupit: heh, i like you all.. lots of tips :)
